For Real

We met Twitch!!! D spotted him and I instantly turned into a huge dorky fan. I blurted out, "Will you take a picture with me, I'm kind of in love with you?" He looked at D and Elle then started cracking up. He was probably thinking, 'Who is this girl declaring her love for me in front of her husband?!!!'

But he gave me a huge hug and graciously took a picture with us and talked to us for awhile. He was so nice. He was on his way to Salt Lake for a workshop he was teaching. Of course I had to call Holly, Annie and Whit right afterward-I was on cloud nine! Okay so I'm still giddy about it.

Happy Feet

New goal: notice one thing everyday that makes me happy. Yes, Oprah's the queen of the gratitude journal-personal chef, bizillionarie, gorgeous homes, girl's school is South Africa...who wouldn't want to jot that down?

My list won't be quite the same, but D does make a mean twice baked potato ("Mmmm, sweet potato"-you have to watch The Soup to get that). And since I'm more of a visual person, instead of writing down what I'm grateful for I'm going to take a picture of it. Here's to being happy today.

March is making me happy

And so is she. Everyone should have a friend like her. Need a little boost in your day? Or even if you don't, check out how amazing she is here.

Bringing Sexy Back

Victoria Secret is bringing sexy+chic back to swimwear. I love some of their suits this year. Very J. Crewesque, without the J.Crew price tag.

I even liked this one glamazon suit which reminded me of a red carpet dress. Formal pool parties might be this summers hot ticket.
BUT beware of this one...

The suit looks like a tug boat that has dropped it's anchor and for a VS model she looks completely flat-chested. If she can't get away with this swim suit-no one can.

I've always been a magazine addict. Ads and all, I love the glossy pages, creativity, photography...
I'm starting a project that is long over-due. I'm going through each and every one of the issues that I have stored in my basement and ripping out the pages I find inspiring/clever/well done and cataloging them in a binder. Spring 2001 Martha Stewart done, a gazillion to go.

Now that Martha (and everyone else) has a blog to archive all the latest and greatest ideas and have a keystroke away, I wonder if it's worth it....

Blog Hacker Alert!

I have been a victim of a blog hacker!
Just kidding I just wanted you to read that and think "Oh no a blog hacker!" and then change your status to private because blogs are oh-so dangerous. No offense to the private peeps out there-I do agree there are creepy people lurking.
I love my blog hacker however! She surprised me with a new header. And I love it.
She can surprise me like this anytime she would like.

How did you celebrate heart day?

We didn't take any pictures but I can tell you our night didn't look like this

or even this

We kept it simple this year. We always go to the same restaurant on Valentines Day, Cafe Molise. D always orders Italian sodas as if they have free refills and he is 10 years old again. Then we ordered dessert to go and were home by 9:15. Simple but nice.

S.W.A.K.

Elle Bell made her first Valentines and mailed them out to her friends this year. Best part is that they were totally free-minus the postage stamp. Hope your day is filled with LOVE and lots of XOXO!

Bad Vs. Good

D made a tradition to get me flowers on the 13th as well as the 14th and before you start to gag, there is a valid reason behind it. I was working at Pottery Barn when we started dating, and on Feb 12th 2006 a gunman shot and killed several people. It was horribly sad and traumatic. I still have a fear of guns.
So he sent me flowers on the 13th and then again on the 14th. I thought it was funny so I asked him why he sent me two sets, he said "the first one's were for your sad day, and the second one's were for Valentine's." Everyone who passed my cubical thought I was two-timing some guys and would stop and make me explain why I had two bouquets of flowers. And a tradition was born.
The next year, he sent me a HORRIBLE bouquet of flowers on the 13th. I didn't even want to bring it back to my desk! He called later that day and I couldn't even lie, I burst out laughing and admitted that I was hiding them in someone else's cubical. He said he just ordered them over the phone and told them NO ROSES. (I'm not a fan of roses on Valentines-too cliche)
But he did much better on the valentines tulips. And so you have exhibit A (and b):

Really? Did someone actually put this together and think, 'this random lily in these carnations looks beautiful!'

What the...?

I'm at a loss for words. Searching through pictures of D and I while we were dating I came across this spectacular photo. Looks like his old roommate wear sexier PJ's than I do.

Haven't felt like blogging lately-seemed kind of trivial when someone you love is so so sad. Thanks for making me laugh Nate.
