Summer of '09

This summer has a different feel to it than others. For us anyway. It's not as carefree or action packed as past summers. No zip lines in the jungle or pina colada's on the beach. Instead it's bike rides around the lake and shaved ice in the parking lot. Neither past nor present is better than the other. Just different. Older, slower, more introverted I guess.
Next summer I will look back and say that summer was full of best friends, family and gratitude. That summer I learned. Grew.

Wow. do you understand that first message? If not, that is so random! Maybe I would delete it and don't click on any of the blue words! Last time I checked though, you weren't fluent in that language! ;)

Anyway....this picture of Elle is precious! She is getting so big Lan and she is going to turn the big ONE soon! Keep taking many pictures of this cute little girl. They change every single day! Time goes by so fast!

i'm so glad to be a part of your summer, and to have you a part of mine. 2009 has been "different" for sure, but sometimes "different" makes us stronger, smarter, better. that's what i'm hoping, anyway. sending lots of love your way.

Sorry, that first message was from me. To translate it says: Alana is the bomb.com

Love the picture, and love the words. I agree this summer is different. Taking rides around the lake and shaved ice seems pretty great.. I will have to join you soon. (p.s. thanks for the skirts, can I bring them to you Saturday?)

Don't you kind of love "getting old"? That seems like a negative way to put it but honestly I am so excited to be turning 30 so I can say "I'm too old for that" :D Not that the kid in me doesn't make her appearance quite regularly, but now I get to choose... it's lovely.

Great post and as always - awesome pictures!
